Meet the Principal

Principal Bjerken is a highly experienced leader, currently serving as the Principal at Jackson Elementary. His career in public education spans over three decades, marked by a commitment to student success, teacher development and instructional improvement.

Before assuming his current role at Jackson Elementary, Principal Bjerken previously served as the Assistant Principal at Shakopee West Middle School and was also the Principal of the former Pearson Sixth Grade Center.

Principal Bjerken's experience in public education began in the Prior Lake School District. He then spent 21 years at Edina Public Schools, where he gained diverse experience as an elementary classroom teacher, an instructional coach and a middle school math teacher.

Principal Bjerken also contributes to the next generation of educational leaders as an Adjunct Professor at Minnesota State University, Mankato, in the Department of Educational Leadership.
